For this project, my team and I were tasked with designing a set of five posters for PS133’s school garden, which focuses on native plants and pollinators, particularly insects and bees. The project included creating one permanent poster to be displayed year-round and four additional seasonal posters (for fall, winter, spring, and summer) to rotate within the garden’s entrance sign throughout the year. With guidance from the client on their preferred style, my team, consisting of Miranda Norris, Greg Wallace, and myself, collaborated to bring the designs to life, ensuring they reflected the garden’s values of sustainability and biodiversity.

My team and I also created mockups of the actual sign that will be displayed on the school garden’s door, showcasing all five posters in context. Using Photoshop, we visualized how each poster—both the permanent and the seasonal designs—would appear throughout the year. This process helped the client better envision the final product and ensure that our designs seamlessly integrated with the garden’s aesthetic and the overall environment.

At P.S. 133 we want children to grow up to be responsible, caring, compassionate human beings who respect the world they live in and know what to do when faced with a difficult decision. What better way to do this, than by instilling the principles of the 7 Habits and the mindfulness techniques of Brain Power Wellness?
We recognize that we can be leaders if we consciously and systematically make appropriate choices both as an individual and as a member of a community. Ideas must be valued and respected, and children must always be at the core of our mission. When you come to P.S. 133, that is the essence of what you feel, of who we are.
